Every year Pineridge Grouse Camp offers a woodcock banding clinic for those interested in seeing how to band woodcock and potentially being able to get a permit from his or her state to band woodcock themselves the following spring. The dates for 2025 are currently set for May 15-18. These dates may change and it will be updated here and on pineridgegrousecamp.com. YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER!! NO EXCEPTIONS!! You will be guided through a very informative power point program discussing the following:
We will also have a presentation on how to create woodcock habitat, getting your dog staunch to flush so you can band, and hopefully if the males cooperate, witness first hand a skydance. Your pointing dog is welcome to attend as well. If you would like to pursue a permit to band you’re pointing dog MUST GET CERTIFIED TO BAND WOODCOCK. This can be done at this clinic under the guidance of Jerry Havel of Pineridge Grouse Camp. We have very limited spots available for this program. Meals are included in the program and PGC also offers a limited amount of RV hookups (electric only).
